CAROL OF THE BELLS
We are going to record a performance of Carol of the Bells in time for Christmas!
We would like to you to record video, however, if you would like to only do audio that’s no problem.
Here are some reminders:
Record your video in LANDSCAPE
Don’t forget to SMILE :)
Try to look at the camera
Try not to hold your score right in front of your face…!
AUDIO GUIDE TRACKS
All recordings need to be in by Sunday 13th December
RECORDING GUIDE - GETTING STARTED
What Will I Need?
Headphones or earphones - click here for some recommends
Two Devices (phone, ipad, tablet, laptop, PC/MAC etc.)
A quiet space
Step 1 - Practise, Practise, Practise!
Take your time to learn the song carefully. Listen and sing along with the guide tracks and try and copy the way the vocal line is sung. Don’t record yourself until you feel as confident as possible with the material.
All material will also be posted in the Dropbox (password: dangerousskies), as well as on this page.
Step 2 - Set Up Your Recording Device!
When you are ready to record, find a quiet space. You can record yourself with a phone, webcam, tablet, desktop or laptop.
The easiest way to record yourself singing is by taking a video. If you do not want to record your face, you don’t have to, you can just record audio. However, it would be lovely to have a video of us singing together - with lots of smiling faces!
Here are some links on how to record a video on various devices.
Step 3 - Set Up Your Audio
You will need another device to listen/watch the Guide Track (Descant, Soprano, Alto, Tenor or Bass).
Plug in some headphones/earphones and make sure you can hear the song at a comfortable volume.
It’s really important you use headphones/earphones, as we only want you to record your voice, not the sound of Adam singing!
Step 4 - Record!
When you are ready, hit play on the Guide Track on one device and hit Record on the other.
It’s OK to record multiple takes (just like a recording studio). Upload your best performance.
Step 5 - Upload!
Well done! Use the button at the top of this page to submit your recording.
If for some reason you have an issue with the upload link, you can also send Adam your recording using WeTransfer.
Any questions or technical issues, please get in touch with Adam - adamsaundersmusic@gmail.com
This is a video from another choir, showing you how to record using two iPhones. Also, ignore the bit about clapping…!
