Adam Saunders is a Composer, Pianist and Educator based in London, UK.

Adam is one of the best music leaders I have seen in action - his ability to engage musicians of any age group or prior experience is a joy to watch. His intimate knowledge of harmony, and refined sense of rhythm/groove helps him to create exceptional results in a short space of time. We need more educators like Adam!
— Tom Hammond, Conductor & Artistic Director of the Hertfordshire Festival of Music

Adam composed the music for ‘Grace’, a full-length youth musical. With a script written by Andrew Alty, this was an ambitious collaborative piece for Merton Music Foundation musicians and members of Wimbledon Community Theatre Trust’s Young Actors Company. 'Grace' was premiered to great acclaim at New Wimbledon Theatre in July 2016.

Speak Up, Speak Out

Adam co-composed ‘Speak Up, Speak Out’, a 60 minute piece inspired by Shakespeare, for massed choir, Jazz Orchestra and His Majestys Sagbutts & Cornetts. This piece premiered at the Royal Albert Hall in 2017.

Adam is the musical director of VocalLab at Aldeburgh Young Musicians.

You cannot help but be impressed when you see Adam work - the way he is able to musically include students of all levels and abilities is quite incredible. He is one of the most talented, creative and inspiring music practitioners I have come across in my 25 years of teaching.

As a composer, Adam has the rare gift of understanding exactly who he is writing for and ensures that his arrangements and original compositions are appropriately challenging yet always achievable and musically rich in melodic and harmonic content. He can adapt his writing style to build in real variety of mood and character and his lyric writing is sophisticated and stylish. His sense of fun and humour is also evident and he is able to express complicated concepts and feelings with clarity and conviction.

Adam recently ran a CPD session for our staff. He was enthusiastic and knowledgeable and his choice of resources was excellent. He shared his teaching methodology in a way that was accessible and practical for all our staff to implement in their own teaching. Adam’s passion for music education shone through and his enthusiasm was infectious. We would wholeheartedly recommend him!
